Well, I've been talking about it for some time now. I finally got the bathroom done! It really wasn't that bad before but it just needed freshening up! It started out light blue, and our shower curtain {though I liked it} had seen its fair share of .....well, lets just say I have three boys! ;)
Because this is a small space I really wanted to add some drama without getting dramatic with color. I went with a neutral gray and did a lot of tone on tone. Halfway through my husband thought it seemed a little cold so I added texture through some of the decor elements. I'm in love with the end result!

If you caught a glimpse of it, you know the drama is in the ceiling. This is the only smooth ceiling in my house! I will give you more details on how I did this later.
I know I'm jumping the gun a little with the Christmas decor, but it just blends so well with the overall design! I have no idea what I'll do in there come January, but I've got lots of time to decide.
To make the space homey, I added the texture. Things like the square rattan charger on the shelf, rattan on the soap dish and soap dispenser, and in some of the decor. Any time a space feels cold, think about what textures or fabrics you can bring in to warm a space up!
If you are interested, the ombre shower curtain, rattan charger, glitter star and towels are from Target.
The soap dish and dispenser are from Meijer.
The rattan reindeer is from TJ Maxx.
Everything else I had around the house.

I absolutely love the strips!!! How did you trim so well? I'm finding the bathroom very difficult to trim because of the smooth ceiling.
ReplyDeleteI just love how it all looks ... the colors ... the textures ... and that striped ceiling! Fabulous!

Your husband uses this bathroom??? God bless him! My husband can't keep a bathroom clean to save his life! Yours is beautiful! Just beautiful. Great job.
ReplyDeleteI just love this bath. If one strips away all the added details, it started as a run of the mill bathroom. But the detail, the stripes and all the wonderful touches have made it into a showplace. Just beautiful.
ReplyDeleteOMGosh! I love your striped ceiling! I love stripes! Thank you for sharing.
