Spring Flower Wreath

You may all ready know that I'm a sucker for a cute wreath! And if you didn't you can go here, here, and here. Now that Easter is over I had to come up with something to replace my eastery wreath. I am still crushing on the cutie felt or fleece flowers that I've used in the past, and this time I used a more colorful variety to create this wreath.

If you would like to make something similar, here's what you will need:

  •      A foam wreath
  •      One skein of yarn
  •      Fleece (or felt, but I like the fleece)  in a variety of colors
  •      Hot glue gun
  •      Scissors

     1)     Wrap your foam wreath with the yarn. If you need more specifics check out the Easter wreath tutorial for my fancy shmancy technique.

     2)     Make your felt flowers. Again, check out this tutorial here for the basics of flower making.

To make these flowers above I used a slightly different technique than the tutorial link above. Here I roughly cut petal shapes in a circle.

Cut a spiral from the outside in.

Roll it up starting with the outside. Add hot glue as you go.

     3)     When your flowers are ready lay them out on your wreath and glue down. The only "challenge" to this wreath is creating your flowers. Once you get the hang of it however, you won't be able to stop! ;)

I love this because with the bright flowers I can still see it well through the screen. And, its a happy looking wreath!
