Yarn Christmas Trees Tutorial

     I'm in love with the many options there are out there for crafting your own little Christmas trees, from feathers, to shells, if you can name a crafting item there probably was a tree made out of it!

     While flipping through my mom's Potter Barn catalog over Thanksgiving I came across some cute yarn trees and decided right then and there that I would make my own.

     I love the gray and white yarn and the little pom on top finishes it off. These were easily made out of empty food boxes {cereal and pasta}.

Here's what I did:

1}     First, cut open your box and trim the flaps off. {This is a really good cereal by the way although I'm not sure what Chia is, if I sprout green hair let me know!}

2}     Twist your cardboard to create a cone shape and tape it in place.

3}     Next, using craft or Elmers glue, and starting at the bottom, use your finger to coat a ring of glue around the base of your tree.

4}     Make even rows of yarn all around your cone all the way up adding glue as you go. I do my first "layer" nice and even to make sure that I cover the whole cone. After this is done and randomly wrap around my cone to create the look I want.

5}     If your cone doesn't close completely at the top us a little pom to fill that in.

     If you need a cheap decor idea, this is it!
