We have a great neighborhood. I love many things about this place but there is one major drawback......
....we have pumpkin smashers! Pretty much, every year for the past 5 or so, on a quiet Friday night {for some reason its always Friday}, we bolt out of our seats at the sound of smashing pumpkins on the front walk. We never catch them. Each year we attempt to bring all the pumpkins in every night to thwart the plans of the smashers but invariably we forget, and that's when they strike!
So this year I decided to scale back on the pumpkins. I couldn't decorate the porch for fall without at least one, and the smashers usually leave the little ones alone. But I'm still taking a risk. Oh, well..........
I love these white pumpkins. This was my first year buying them. Hopefully the white color will trick the smashers and they will leave him alone!
I have this genius neighbor who invented this amazing little clip. It hooks into the vinyl siding so that you can hang things from it {this is what my 'Give Thanks' sign hangs from}. I love it because you don't have to try to pound through the siding to hang something and its not permanent. {So that if one day we wanted to move away from the smashers it could come with us!} You can check out the company that produces them here. They are really cheap! {7 clips are only $7.95 and shipping is free!}
So pumpkin smashers {if you are blog readers, that is} please be kind!

Such a lovely fall display! I think I need to add some mini pumpkins to my pots of mums to fancy them up!

That's so sad! Darn pumpkin smashers!
ReplyDeleteToo bad about the pumpkin smashers! Hopefully they will leave the poor little white one alone! Love all of the little ones in your planters, they look great! Wish I could find something for my front planter; it's in shade all day, so not a lot of choices. Your front porch looks so beautiful! :)

ReplyDeleteI agree, you porch looks very lovely and festive! It actually reminds me of my grandmother's house in Provence, where we usually spend our holidays when we were still kids.
