Chalk Paint Fun

     My husband was gone over the weekend enjoying some of the NCAA games. The kids and I have kept busy shopping, having a movie night {we watched 'Bedknobs and Broomsticks', remember that movie? They really liked it!}, we made green punch for St. Patricks day, and did lots of chalking. I came across a recipe for chalk paint. {I googled it}  My kids LOVE to chalk and spend hours with the neighbor kids drawing tracks to ride their scooters on. This was super simple and the kids were thrilled.

     To make the paint you mix:

          1/4 cup cornstarch
          1/4 cup water
          a few drops of food coloring

     Mix it up and you're ready to go!

     The kids had a great time painting everything from rocks and sticks to the sidewalk. They even made a welcome home sign for dad!

     I am sure we will be making this on many a summer day! This washes off just like regular chalk does when it rains. I'm not sure if it will stain clothes. Amazingly we only got one spot on my sons shirt. I haven't washed it yet so we'll see what happens. {It did come right out!}

Enjoy this fun project with your kiddos!
